Cookies and Tracking Technologies

We use cookies and similar tracking technologies to track activity on our Site and collect certain information. You can instruct your browser to refuse all cookies or to indicate when a cookie is being sent.

Types of Cookies We Use

  • Essential Cookies: Required for the Site to function properly
  • Analytics Cookies: Help us understand how visitors use our Site
  • Preference Cookies: Remember your settings and preferences

Sponsor Link Clicks and Impressions

Links to our sponsors go through go.devops-daily.com, so that we can tell sponsors how many people clicked each placement. When you click one, we record the link, where it was placed, the page it was on, the time, your country, the referring website and whether the click looks automated. We do not store your IP address and we set no cookies. To count each visitor once per day, we keep a one-way hash of your IP address and browser that uses a different key every day, and we delete each day's key the next day.

We also count how often each sponsor link is on screen. When at least half of a sponsor link is visible for one second, the page counts it once. When you leave or hide the page, it sends one small report to go.devops-daily.com with the sponsor links it counted and the part of the site you were on. These counts are totals only and are not linked to you. On pages written for a sponsor, the report also counts a view, with the same daily hash as clicks, so that we can count readers once per day.
